Visa Applications

According to the University Regulations and the Law of Northern Cyprus, students applying to study in North Cyprus universities may need to obtain visas from their home countries.

International Students should apply for a visa from either the TRNC Representative Office or Turkish Embassy / Consulate (http://www.mfa.gov.tr) in their home country. Before applying for a visa, students are required to pay the initial tuition fee (which is specified in their Conditional Acceptance Letter) to the university bank account.

You have to include your full name and passport number when making the bank transfer payment. As soon as the payment is made, a copy of the paid tuition fee bank receipt should be forwarded to the International Office for confirmation of the Acceptance Letter to be sent to the Turkish / TRNC Representative Office / Consulate in your country.

Required Documents for applying to Turkish Embassy / Consulate / TRNC Representative Office in your country:

  • Valid Passport
  • Proof of Permanent Address
  • Secondary / High School Diploma and Transcripts
  • Acceptance Letter
  • Tuition Fee Bank Receipt
  • 2 Photos (3x4)

* FIU Tuition Fee Refund Policy:* The amount payable to secure your admission offer at FIU will be received on a *non-refundable* basis. The only exception to this rule is if you incur a rejected visa application from the Turkish Embassy or if you are denied entry to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In both cases, *evidence of the rejected visa/entry denial* will need to be presented to the International Office. If a refund is approved, 60% of the amount that was payable to secure your admission will be retained by FIU as an administrative fee. For your refund, you will receive the remaining amount (which will be 40% of the fee payable to secure your admission) within six months, unless the International Office informs you otherwise. If you have any questions about the FIU Tuition Fee Refund Policy, please contact: international@final.edu.tr
