Can I find part-time paid work in North Cyprus?
Although some students take up this option whereby opportunities are found, it is best for students to focus on their studies. The Student Residence Permit provided is a permit to live and study in North Cyprus, and it is important to note that employment opportunities are not only rare, but that there is a lot of competition and wages are not usually sufficient to cover the cost of tuition.
What happens to my fees if I am refused a visa in my home country?
FIU Tuition Fee Refund Policy:* The amount payable to secure your admission offer at FIU will be received on a *non-refundable* basis. The only exception to this rule is if you incur a rejected visa application from the Turkish Embassy or if you are denied entry to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In both cases, *evidence of the rejected visa/entry denial* will need to be presented to the International Office. If a refund is approved, 60% of the amount that was payable to secure your admission will be retained by FIU as an administrative fee. For your refund, you will receive the remaining amount (which will be 40% of the fee payable to secure your admission) within six months, unless the International Office informs you otherwise. If you have any questions about the FIU Tuition Fee Refund Policy, please contact: international@final.
Can I register at FIU just to study English?
Yes, as long as you are qualified for university entrance, you could register to spend 1 or 2 semesters studying in our English Preparatory School.
Can I fly to North Cyprus via airports in the south of the island?
Please bear in mind that free movement between the two sides of Cyprus is only possible for full EU passport holders. Most of our international students therefore have to use Lefkoşa Ercan Airport and transit through Istanbul.
